Dr Gerhard Schwartz joins ARQIS as a new Counsel
04. SEPTEMBER 2019
At the beginning of September, Dr Gerhard Schwartz joined the team of ARQIS in Munich as a new Counsel. His areas of practice are Infrastructure/Renewable Energies, Real Estate, M&A, Corporate Law and Institutional Investors.
Gerhard Schwartz started his career in 2006 as a lawyer at Ashurst in the area of Private Equity/M&A. In 2008, he moved to the investment and asset manager KGAL, where he oversaw in particular Infrastructure/Renewable Energy transactions in Germany and abroad. In 2013, Schwartz and other colleagues founded a fund boutique, which was subsequently acquired in 2015 by the international project developer WPD from Bremen. WPD invests the capital of institutional investors in wind and solar projects, including “Gemini”, Europe’s largest offshore wind farm. Schwartz was responsible for the search for suitable investors in addition to the legal structure and set-up of such funds and the legal support of the transactions.
“With the move to ARQIS I would like to return to my roots as a lawyer. The firm ideally embodies the opportunity to incorporate my entrepreneurial experience into legal advice,” said Schwartz.
Professor Christoph v. Einem, partner of ARQIS Rechtsanwaelte, noticed: “With Gerhard Schwartz we are gaining a lawyer who will significantly strengthen our expertise, particularly in the areas of infrastructure – especially renewable energies – and in dealing with institutional investors.”
