ARQIS advises investors on entry in TerraLoupe
27. June 2016
ARQIS has advised investors on the first financing round of the Munich start-up TerraLoupe. Bayern Kapital as well as a consortium of Business Angels consisting of Prof. Dr. Christoph Einem, Prof. Dr. Michael Mirow and e2C3-Angelnetzwerk participated in the seed financing.
Computer vision start-up TerraLoupe analyses aerial photography data of large sections of land using artificial intelligence. The use of the deep learning procedure also enables the automatic identification of small objects in large areas. TerraLoupe intends to invest the fresh capital in the expansion and refinement of algorithms. The latter are able to efficiently identify relatively small objects such as roof windows or street signs out of large volume of data. This type of solutions had not been available on the market prior to this and helps car manufacturers, for example, to get high-precision roadmaps for GPS systems and autonomous driving faster and more economically.
ARQIS-Partner Prof. Dr. Christoph von Einem himself was one of the participating Business Angels and also acted together with ARQIS-Associate Andrea Schlote as Deal Counsel. The renowned venture capital practice around Prof. Dr. Christoph von Einem recently advised the catering start-up Heycater! on the completion of its second financing round.
