ARQIS advises Agile Robots on acquisition of Yu cobot
10. August 2022
ARQIS has advised Munich-based Agile Robots AG with its subsidiary Agile Robots Hanover GmbH on the acquisition of the “Yu” cobot with all associated technology components in an asset deal. The seller was voraus robotik GmbH in Hanover.
voraus robotik is active in the field of software development of functional software for robot systems and had acquired essential assets of the insolvent YUANDA Robotics GmbH based in Hanover from its insolvency administrator. YUANDA had developed, produced and distributed the collaborative robot “Yu”. Now that voraus robotik wants to focus on the development of software for robots, Agile Robots has acquired the hardware as well as the software regarding firmware and functional safety, in particular all areas related to the development, production and distribution of the cobot “Yu”.
Agile Robots Hanover GmbH is part of the global robot manufacturer Agile Robots AG. As spin-off from the Institute of Robotics and Mechatronics of the German Aerospace Center, Agile Robots has been developing robots for a wide range of applications from industrial manufacturing and logistics to medical robotics since 2018.
Agile Robots is once again relying on ARQIS. The Munich-based team led by Dr. Christoph von Einem has already accompanied several financing rounds, advised on the company’s global IP strategy, and helped set up employee incentive programs and strategic partnership agreements with major companies.
