ARQIS advises coparion and SG Group on German Investor Carsten Maschmeyer's Entry into Neodigital Versicherung AG
09. January 2020
ARQIS has accompanied the second round of financing at Neodigital Versicherung AG, a digital property and casualty insurer from Neunkirchen, on the side of the old investors, coparion and the SchneiderGolling Group. ALSTIN Capital, the venture capital fund of Mr. Carsten Maschmeyer, and Deutsche Rückversicherung AG invested. The parties have agreed not to disclose the amount of the investment.
Neodigital was founded as a consistently digitized insurance company in 2016 by Dirk Wittling and Stephen Voss and was the first completely digital insurance with a BaFin license in the German market. With market-leading digital processes and an individually configurable insurance module, Neodigital offers the market an Insurance-as-a-Service model that is unrivalled in terms of modularity and performance. As an insurer, Neodigital works with a high degree of automation in day-to-day operations and in claims processing. But also through digital end-to-end communication, Neodigital is a pioneer in a market that is often only oriented towards new business and is recommended as an alternative to pure portfolio management systems. With Neodigital, market participants can quickly and easily develop their own fully digitized insurance products and bring them to the market immediately. In order to catch up with the digital backlog, the insurance industry in Germany will be even more dependent on digital as-a-service solutions in the future.
“We are very pleased that our completely digital approach not only convinces customers, sales partners and other insurance companies, but that we were also able to inspire new investors for our unique Insurance-as-a-Service model,” explains Stephen Voss, founder and Board Member for Marketing and Sales at Neodigital. “The expanded circle of investors confirms the success of our continuously digital business model and enables us – just one and a half years after market entry – to significantly expand our range.
The team around Dr. Jörn-Christian Schulze regularly advises both clients; collectively, for example, on their entry into Neodigital. Individually, the team advised SG group on its most recent divestment to Clark and coparion on numerous venture investments.
