ARQIS Rechtsanwälte has advised during the sale of the Curata care facilities on the side of the previous owners. The sale was carried out by MG Beteiligungsgesellschaft mbH and the directors and shareholders of Curata, Michael Gordon and Matthias Gülich.

The purchaser is the Michael Bethke Unternehmens­gruppe, which already runs six nursing and retirement facilities in Berlin and Brandenburg and has more than 800 employees. The acquisition of Curata adds 16 care homes nationwide with around 1,500 beds. The Curata Group is based in Düsseldorf. 1,200 employees currently work for the group.

“The corporate philosophy and structures of the Bethke Unternehmensgruppe are similar to the mission statement of Curata and that is why we know our company is in good hands”, Gordon und Gülich, who founded Curata in 2003, stated.

The M&A team headed by Dr. Jörn-Christian Schulze is highly experienced in transactions in the care market. The contact between ARQIS and Curata first came about when the M&A team was working on the other side for the care home operator Alloheim in 2014. At that time, Alloheim purchased three retirement homes from Curata.
