ARQIS has advised travel operator Fit Reisen on the acquisition of all the business operations of kurz-mal-weg.de. This was the first sale of a UNISTER business operation to an investor by the insolvency administrator for the UNISTER Group, Prof. Dr. Lucas F. Flöther.

Kurz-mal-weg.de specializes in arranging short trips inside Germany.

As a result of the insolvency of the UNISTER Group, the operator of the kurz-mal-weg.de portal, Kurz Mal Weg GmbH, also had to apply for the opening of insolvency proceedings. The creditors have already agreed to the takeover by Fit Reisen. The business operations of kurz-mal-weg.de will be continued in full by the new owner. The trade name kurz-mal-weg.de and the reservations portal of the same name will be retained, as will the location in Leipzig.

The new owner, Fit Reisen, headquartered in Frankfurt am Main, is a leading German provider of health and wellness trips. “Short and wellness trips are booming,” said Jan Seifried, managing director at Fit Reisen. “A significant expansion of our offers with destination Germany has been on our strategic agenda for quite some time.”

“The takeover of kurz-mal-weg.de offered the ideal opportunity to take the next step in this regard,” added Dr. Nils Asmussen, also a managing director at Fit Reisen. “We see huge potential in the expansion of the www.kurz-mal-weg.de booking platform, and are also convinced that that our www.fitreisen.de portal will benefit vastly from the know-how of our ‘new’ team in Leipzig.”

This the first time that ARQIS advised Fit Reisen. The contact was established by the lead partner Dr. Lars Laeger, who joined ARQIS from Clifford Chance in July of this year.
